Our Fleet
Students from Toronto and surrounding areas can learn to fly in in Burlington in one of our Cessna or Piper aircraft, or our modern glass cockpit flight simulator.
Our fleet consists of a total of 15 aircraft in Burlington.
10 Cessna 172 L/M/N’s, 4 Piper Warrior PA28’s, 1 Diamond DA20, 1 Piper Seneca PA34 and a Cirrus SR20
We also have a full-motion RedBird FMX1000, which is approved for conducting IPCs . Our entire fleet and simulators are well maintained and certified on a regular basis on-site by our in-house aircraft maintenance organization, Kovachik Aircraft Services and Lawrence Aero Enterprises.
Cessna 172 (L/M/N)
The Cessna 172 has very similar characteristics to the Cessna 152. The main difference is that the 172 is a four seat aircraft and generally has more space within the cabin. The 172 also cruises about 5-10 knots faster than the 152. We currently have four Cessna 172M/N models (Carbureted). The Cessna 172 is used for training in Burlington and Parry Sound.
Diamond DA20
The Diamond DA20 Eclipse is a low-wing, single engine aircraft that features composite construction. It has responsive controls using control sticks and excellent visibility due to its bubble canopy. Our DA20 is equipped with Garmin avionics and provides an efficient flight training package for students in all phases of training.
Piper Warrior PA28
Available in Burlington, the Piper Warrior is a single-engine low-wing aircraft that people enjoy flying because of the extra horsepower and increased overhead visibility. We have four Piper Warriors; one of which has a constant speed propeller. The aircraft are all IFR certified and equipped with a Avidyne 440. All in all they are a great ride!
Piper Seneca
The Piper Seneca is a twin-engine aircraft that is primarily used for multi-engine training and certification. The Piper Seneca is also used for multi-engine instrument training (Multi IFR). Note Multi/Multi-IFR training is only conducted in Burlington.
Redbird FMX 1000 Simulator
Featuring full 3 axis motion, the Redbird provides an excellent training platform to enhance the learning experience for all levels of flight training. Whether it’s gaining the feel of crosswind landings, performing single-engine overshoots in a multi-engine aircraft, or shooting approaches with Garmin 530/430 GPS technology, Spectrum Airways' Redbird simulator is ready to enhance your training environment today. This simulator is Transport Canada approved for IPC’s and is located in Burlington.
